This advanced Chinese course is an introduction to Religions in China. The course takes a unique look at historical influences of world religions on modern Chinese society. We explore religions activities, institutions, and cultural adaptations from early Buddhism, Daoism, Confucianism, Christianity, and secularism. Class lectures, student research, and activities are designed to give students a deeper understanding into the complexity of the issue and a foundation or voice for future discourse and study in China.
