Stephen Murnion

Stephen ‘Beav’ Murnion graduated from Montana State University with a BA in Japan Studies before continuing on as a Master’s student in EALL. He successfully defended his thesis, entitled “The Limits of Existential Therapy in the Fiction of Nakamura Fuminori” in 2015, and is now enrolled in the Japanese Studies PhD program. His research interests focus primarily on post-Bubble Japanese literature and critical theory, theories of precarity, phenomenology, and post-humanism. In his free time, he spins UK dubstep, future garage, techno, footwork, and drum & bass at KWVA, UO’s campus radio station.
