Shijia Nie

 Shijia Nie is a Ph. D. student in premodern Chinese literature. She received her B.A. (2008) in Chinese Language and Literature from Beijing Normal University and M.A. (2011) in premodern Chinese literature from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Her current research interests focus on how poetry circulate in the late Tang concerning manuscript culture and the interaction between poetry and other literary genres such as Chuanqi. She tries to identify and interpret the influence of circulation on the art of poetry and the culture of romance in late Tang. She is currently working on a prospectus, and ultimately a dissertation, that will come out of this research focus. She is also interested in late imperial Chinese material culture and historical narratives in early China and the Ming-Qing transitional period.

In her leisure time, she likes to play the violin, travel, listen to music, and watch movies.
